Jake Eshelman's work experience begins in 2015 when they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Allogen Laboratories. Here, they gained a fundamental understanding of immunology after studying an immunology textbook.
In 2016, Jake worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University in Tom Kelly's lab. Jake'smain responsibilities involved studying the effect of cystic fibrosis on cellular transport in different areas of the mouse brain.
Starting in 2018, Jake joined Illumino Lighting as a Head Engineer. Jake worked on the development and production of a surgical lighting device aimed at improving visualization during colorectal surgeries. Jake collaborated closely with colorectal surgeons, learned EAGLE to design and produce a PCB, and handled incorporation and patent processes. Additionally, Jake and their team successfully raised over $15,000 through venture competitions.
Currently, Jake is working at HIVE Medical as an Embedded Engineer, a position they started in 2021.
Jake Eshelman began their education in 2013 at The College of Wooster, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Jake completed this program in 2017. In 2018, they enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, which they completed in 2020. Jake continued their education at Washington University, starting a Master of Science program in Computer Engineering in 2021, which is expected to end in 2022.
