Tomi Puolakka

Tomi Puolakka has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Tomi currently holds the position of Vice President Fulfillment at Hive, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at erly as the Co-Founder and COO from 2021 to 2022. In 2021, they were also involved in strategic projects aimed at building D2C fulfillment solutions.

Before that, Puolakka held key leadership positions at Shopify, including Director of Partnerships and Director of Commercial for Shopify Fulfillment Network (SFN) in 2020. Tomi was responsible for overseeing partnerships, network design, sourcing, and negotiating commercial agreements for SFN. Tomi also managed day-to-day operations for partner-operated fulfillment centers.

From 2016 to 2020, Puolakka worked at Amazon as the Director of European External Fulfillment, where they designed and created new fulfillment channels in Europe. Tomi managed external parties and 3PLs, contributing to the growth and operational performance of Amazon's European Operations.

Prior to that, Puolakka served as the Sr Director of Regional Logistics for EMEA at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company from 2014 to 2015. In this role, they oversaw logistics operations and structured the supply chain for the entire region.

Tomi also has experience at GSK as the Head of Supply Chain from 2012 to 2014 and at Nokia in various supply chain roles. At Nokia, they held positions such as Supply Chain Director for MEA, Head of Supply Chain for Africa, Head of Global Launch Management, Head of Product Management, Supply Chain Manager for Games Business Program, and Manager of Logistics Product Management.

Puolakka started their career as a Development Engineer at Tellabs Inc. in 1998.

Tomi Puolakka completed their education in Industrial Engineering, receiving a Master of Science degree from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 1993 to 1998. In 2011, they attended Hult International Business School and obtained an Executive MBA degree in International Business, completing their studies in 2013. Additionally, in 2013, Tomi Puolakka obtained a certification as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS.
