Kenneth Smith

Principal Software Engineer at HIVERY

Kenneth Smith has extensive experience in software engineering, starting with their tenure at DKTek Software Corporation as a Software Designer Co-op Student in 2007. Kenneth then moved on to Marine Simulation Group, where they worked as a Simulation Group Co-op Student, developing a GPU-based real-time wave model API. In 2008, Kenneth joined Research In Motion as a Graphics Developer Co-op Student, designing and implementing a graphics API and supporting rich media web content for BlackBerry handhelds. Kenneth continued at Research In Motion as a Software Developer and worked there until 2013.

In 2014, Kenneth joined Darelle Media Inc as a Backend Web Developer, responsible for developing backend web applications. Kenneth then worked as a Freelance Web Developer and CTO at Purple Radish Kitchen in 2015.

From 2016 to 2019, Kenneth served as a Senior Software Engineer at Motion Metrics International Corp, focusing on software development. Kenneth then joined ehsAI in 2020, initially as a Senior Software Engineer and later transitioning to the role of Director of Software Engineering in 2021.

Currently, Kenneth is working as a Principal Software Engineer at HIVERY, starting in 2023.

Kenneth Smith attended Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2003 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Computer Engineering. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from Coursera, including the Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects. These certifications were obtained between January and February of 2019.
