Frans Brekelmans

Frans Brekelmans is an experienced professional in information security and ICT management, currently serving as a Program Manager for Cloud Migration and Advisor for Information Security at Hivos since March 2023. As the owner of FBAconsultancy since October 2018, Frans provides interim ICT management and cybersecurity advisory services. Previously, as Chief Information Security Officer for the Municipality of Alkmaar from 2016 to 2022, Frans guided the municipality toward BIO compliance and enhanced cybersecurity awareness. Additional significant roles include Chief Information Officer and Manager of Information Provision and Automation at the same municipality, where Frans was responsible for cloud migration and implementing Smart City concepts. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from the University of Amsterdam and a teaching degree from Lerarenopleiding d'Witte Leli.
