Paula Franco Moreira currently serves as the Country Engagement Manager for the Voices for Just Climate Action program at Hivos, focusing on climate justice initiatives in Brazil. With extensive experience in human rights, gender equity, and climate change adaptation, Paula has held key technical advisory roles at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and has coordinated various projects related to energy and indigenous peoples at Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS). Paula's prior positions include policy consulting for organizations such as the Amazon Environmental Research Institute and International Rivers, alongside roles in academic research, emphasizing the intersection of climate change and societal participation. Paula holds multiple advanced degrees, including a PhD in International Relations from Universidade de Brasília, and has contributed to numerous climate policies and projects aimed at promoting sustainable development and empowering marginalized communities.
