G. Preston Wilson, Jr., PhD originally hails from Durham, NC. He attended Fisk University, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Missouri, respectively. Before pursuing his PhD in Music Education, he taught general/vocal music in the Toledo Public School system: a Title 1 school district in Toledo OH. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. His research centers urban music educational experiences, race relations in music education, and practical applications of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Additionally, he is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
