Rand Ekman

Rand Ekman is the current Chief Sustainability Officer & Principal at HKS, INC. Rand has also previously worked as the Director of Sustainability at CannonDesign, and has been a part of the Market Advisory Committee for the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2017, they joined the Illinois Green Alliance as a Member Board of Directors, where they remain today. Prior to their work in sustainability, Ekman was an architect and director at OWP/P.

Rand Ekman received a Masters of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from UCLA, and studied Drawing at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Rand also completed a program in Healthier Materials and Sustainable Buildings at Parsons School of Design - The New School.
