Louis Magnan

Chief Engineer, Eastern Canada & International at Canadian Helicopters

Louis Magnan began their work experience in 2007 as an Apprentice at Expedition Helicopters, where they gained field and base maintenance experience on Bell 206 and AS350 series aircraft. Louis then worked part-time at ExelTech Aerospace while attending college, assisting AMEs with ongoing inspections on CRJ200, ATR 42/72, and Embraer 170/190 aircraft.

In 2008, Louis continued their apprenticeship at Great Slave Helicopters, performing field and base maintenance on MD500, AS350 series, and Bell 206 aircraft.

After graduating from college, they joined ExelTech Aerospace as a full-time apprentice until the company went bankrupt in October 2009. Their responsibilities included assisting AMEs with inspections and opening/closing panels and cabins on various aircraft types.

In 2009, Louis worked as an Apprentice at Nolinor Aviation before joining Canadian Helicopters Limited in 2010 as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Louis gained certification authority for AS350, Bell 206, Bell 212, and Bell 412 aircraft and was involved in field operations across Canada, as well as a 12-year inspection/rebuild program in Les Cèdres. Louis had the opportunity to work on the Bell Helicopter CH146 OWSS contract for the Canadian military.

In February 2021, Louis became the Chief Engineer for Eastern Canada & International at Canadian Helicopters Limited, overseeing multiple heavy maintenance projects and coordinating with various departments and third parties.

Louis Magnan has a diverse education history. Louis obtained a Certificat in Management from Université TÉLUQ between 2016 and 2022. Prior to that, they pursued a College Degree in Technicien en Entretien d'Aéronefs from École Nationale d'aérotechnique from 2005 to 2009. Their earlier education includes a Programme d'Éducation Internationale at Académie Lafontaine from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, Louis has obtained an M2 AME License from Transport Canada in 2011.
