Rhys Phelps

Rhys Phelps has extensive experience in procurement and vendor management. Rhys currently holds the position of Head of Procurement at Hodge since July 2022. Prior to that, Rhys worked at Starling Bank as a Senior Vendor Manager from July 2021 to July 2022, where they successfully negotiated with suppliers and ensured regulatory compliance. Before Starling Bank, Rhys worked at Atradius, starting as a Contracts and Performance Manager from February 2007 to October 2011 and later as a Procurement Manager from November 2011 to July 2021. At Atradius, they created a supplier management framework, led procurement efforts for GDPR compliance, and coordinated large contract negotiations.

Rhys Phelps holds an LLB degree in Law from Aberystwyth University, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. Rhys also achieved an LLM degree in Commercial Law from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2006 to 2007. In addition, Rhys has obtained the BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply from The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
