Head Of Global Port And Cargo Operation at Höegh Autoliners

Thomas Ekhaugen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the shipping industry. Thomas began their career as a Telexoperator in Høegh Autoliners AS in 1994 before moving on to roles such as Assistant Manager Chartering and Manager of Bunker Purchasing. In 1997, they became the Operation Manager for Europe Africa Trade, responsible for vessel operations in Europe and Africa. Thomas later served as the Trade Manager for Europe Middle East and Far East Trade and then as the General Manager of Operational Area Americas (USA, NY). From 2008 to 2011, they were the General Manager of Operations Europe. In 2011, they joined UECC as the Head of Fleet and Cargo Operations. Thomas returned to Høegh Autoliners AS in 2017 as the Head of Global Port and Cargo Operation. In this role, they were globally responsible for all port suppliers, performance, as well as contracting.

Thomas Ekhaugen attended BI (Norwegian School of Management) from 1994 to 1995, where they pursued a Business Candidate degree with a specialization in Economy. Following this, from 1996 to 1997, they enrolled at NMH (Norges Markedshøyskole), where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study.

Höegh Autoliners operates 11 trade routes in global trade systems, with about 3 000 port calls annually. Our ocean services consist of 10 deep sea trades and a shortsea Caribbean service.
