James H. Sabry

Global Head of Pharma Partnering at Roche

James H. Sabry has been the Global Head of Pharma Partnering at Roche since July 2018. Prior to this, they were the Senior Vice President, Genentech Partnering, and head of all gRED business development and alliance management functions from 2010 to 2018. From 2008 to 2010, James was the President and CEO of Arete Therapeutics. James has also served on the Board of Directors for the California Life Sciences Association from 2015 to 2016, the American Society for Cell Biology from 2011 to 2013, and HopeLab from 2005 to 2016. In addition, James was a member of the Dean's Council at the Kennedy School of Government from 2000 to 2008 and is currently a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Cytokinetics.

James H. Sabry completed their undergraduate degree at Queen's University with a major in Biology. James then went on to obtain their M.Sc. from Caltech in the same field. Afterwards, they pursued their Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Francisco. After obtaining their doctorate, they did a post-doctoral fellowship in Biochemistry at Stanford University. James then completed their residency in Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
