Erland Hermansen

Medical Director Clinical Development at Hofseth BioCare ASA

Erland Hermansen's work experience begins in 2002 at Helse Møre og Romsdal HF, where they worked as an Orthopedic Resident until 2007. Erland then joined Helse Bergen Hf as a Konstituert Overlege from September 2007 to April 2009. After that, they worked at Helse Møre og Romsdal HF again, where they held multiple roles including Consultant (April 2009 to May 2017), Head of Department (May 2017 to August 2020), and Project Leader (starting in January 2012).

In their various positions, Erland was involved in orthopedics, with a special focus on spine surgery and total joint replacements. Erland also conducted clinical research in conjunction with their work. Erland managed and supported county-based research projects, as well as leading national multicenter trials evaluating surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis with and without Spondylolisthesis.

Since September 2020, Erland has been working as the Medical Director of Clinical Development at Hofseth BioCare ASA, where they are responsible for the RD-program, initiating and directing research programs at local, national, and international levels to develop new bioactive products.

From 1988 to 1991, Erland attended Ullevål Sykepleierhøyskole and obtained a degree in Offentlig Godkjent Sykepleier.

From 1994 to 2000, Erland studied at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and earned a degree in Cand.med.

Between 2002 and 2009, Erland pursued their education at Den Norske Legeforening, specializing in orthopedic surgery and becoming an Ortopedisk kirurg.

Lastly, Erland completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Medisin from the University of Bergen (UiB) from 2013 to 2018.
