Marije de Haas

Marije de Haas has a varied and extensive work experience. Marije is currently serving as the Head of Master Digital Design at Hogeschool van Amsterdam | Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Creative Director at F31 BV from 2019. Marije also served as an Associate Professor at Umeå Institute of Design from 2013 to 2022. Marije de Haas was the Creative Director and Owner of Floda31, a laboratory for innovation and creativity, from 2010 to 2022. Marije also worked as a PHD Student at Loughborough University / Design Star from 2016 to 2020. Before pursuing their PHD, they worked as the Creative Director and Owner at Bullet Creative Ltd from 1999 to 2010, a Designer at Pod Productions from 1999 to 2000, and a Designer at International Design UK from 1997 to 1998.

Marije de Haas has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Design research / e from Loughborough University, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Arts (MA) in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London, completing it from 1997 to 1999. Marije also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Graphic Design from Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam, which they achieved from 1991 to 1997. Marije briefly studied as an exchange student at Rochester Institute of Technology in 1994. Marije'ssecondary education was completed at Erasmus College from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained their VWO degree.
