Charles Valentine

President, Spray Foam at Holcim Building Envelope

Charles Valentine has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Charles began their career in 1982 at BASF in Research and Development, where they formulated urethane systems and quickly moved up within the company. Charles then joined ICI Polyurethanes, where they worked in product development and sales, leveraging their scientific expertise to drive growth and profitability.

Valentine later joined ARCO Chemicals, where they served as the CASE Marketing Manager, responsible for forecasting budgets and providing market insights to support strategic decision-making. Charles also worked as a Sales Representative, utilizing their chemical engineering background to generate revenue and negotiate significant deals.

In 1999, Valentine joined Bayer Material Science as the President of BSNA/Sales and Business Management. Charles successfully grew the organization's sales, expanded into the residential spray foam industry, and led projects to optimize systems and pricing.

Valentine then ventured into entrepreneurship and founded SES Foam LLC in 2010. As the CEO, they developed a technology to produce urethane out of sucrose, built a profitable company, and eventually sold it to private equity in 2016.

Charles continued their journey as the COO of SES Foam, overseeing operations and contributing to the organization's growth from $26MM to $130MM before it was acquired by Holcim in 2022.

Currently, Valentine serves as the President of Spray Foam at Holcim Building Envelope. In this role, they lead the business unit, collaborates with direct reports, and leverages their expertise and industry connections to maximize performance and provide value to clients.

Charles Valentine attended Drexel University from 1976 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering.
