Derick Dreyer has extensive work experience in the industrial and manufacturing sector. Derick started their career at Samancor Chrome/BHP Billiton as an Optimization Co-ordinator. Derick then joined Holcim, where they held various roles including Continuous Improvement Engineer and Milling Section Engineer. Derick later became the Reliability Manager and Maintenance Manager at Holcim, where they led the Maintenance & Engineering Department and was responsible for maintenance activities and projects. After that, they worked at ARMS Reliability Engineers as a Principal Reliability Engineer, managing a consulting engineering office and conducting RAM studies for industrial clients. Derick then joined AfriSam as the General Manager of an integrated cement manufacturing operation. Currently, they are working at Holcim as the Head of Industrial Development & Decarbonization, leading regional development of decarbonization initiatives and Industry 4.0 developments. Derick has also held positions as the Head of Industrial Performance and Director of Corporate Manufacturing & Slag Operations at Holcim, where they focused on technical services, carbon capture projects, and manufacturing systems. Derick Dreyer completed their education with an MBA in Business from Bond University, which they pursued from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria from 1995 to 2000. Additionally, they earned a certification in Senior Leaders Business School IV from The Ivey Academy at Ivey Business School in 2022.
