Derres Catalano

Derres Catalano has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Derres started their career as a Plastics Tooling Engineer at HK Plastics Engineering in 1998. Derres then worked as a Product Transfer Engineer at Denso Wireless, managing the transfer of new cellular handsets from design to manufacturing.

In 2001, Catalano joined DJO as a Manufacturing Engineer, where they managed machining, injection molding, and stamping operations, leading cost reduction projects. At Hunter Industries, they served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, performing sustaining engineering tasks for the Sprays product line and leading projects that resulted in significant cost savings and the development of new products.

Catalano later took on roles at Hunter Industries as an Engineering Manager for the Sprays Product Line and as a Product Manager for Controllers. Derres led a team and was responsible for research, product development, and sustaining engineering efforts.

At Fluidmaster, Inc, Catalano held several roles, including Director of Engineering for Advanced Programs, where they developed next-generation flush/fill technology and integrated it into the company's strategic roadmap. As Director of New Product Development, they directed all NPD departments and was involved in recruitment and training.

Most recently, Catalano worked at Reliance Worldwide Corporation as the Vice President of Engineering for the Americas region. In this role, they led the Engineering department, integrated separate teams, implemented new processes, delivered on product management initiatives, and partnered with other departments for product strategy and intellectual property strategies.

Derres Catalano obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, attending from 1994 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing at California State University San Marcos from 2007 to 2010.
