Joe Tiernan, ARM, AAI has a diverse work experience in the insurance and risk management industry. Joe started their career at Nikkel & Associates, Inc as an Assistant Journeyman from May 2004 to August 2008. In 2008, they joined Wells Fargo Bank as a Customer Service Representative, where they worked until January 2010. Joe then moved to Holmes Murphy & Associates, where they had multiple roles including Business Development from May 2009 to August 2010, and later as an Account Executive from September 2010 to June 2018. Currently, Joe is a Shareholder and Account Executive at Holmes Murphy & Associates, specializing in providing enterprise risk management solutions, traditional property casualty insurance, group captives, self-insurance, loss control, and educating clients on the impact of EMRs on the bottom dollar.

Joe Tiernan, ARM, AAI pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Finance from Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Joe also obtained a degree in Business with a specialization in Finance from the same institution during the same time period. After completing their formal education, Joe went on to earn several certifications in the insurance and risk management field. In December 2011, they obtained the Associate in Risk Management certification from The Institutes. Joe also achieved the Accredited Adviser in Insurance certification from The Institutes in August 2011. Additionally, Joe became a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) in January 2011 through AICPCU. Most recently, in April 2019, they obtained the CRIS - Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist certification from the International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI).
