Nesha Ruther

Lead Manuscript Developer at Holon Publishing

Nesha Ruther is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison, with an English degree specialized in Creative Writing. She is a member of the tenth cohort of First Wave, the nation’s only full-tuition scholarship program awarded to select students with a background in arts and activism. In 2016 she was a YoungArts winner in spoken word, a 2016 winner of the DC Commission of the Arts Larry Neal Writing Award, a 2017 winner of the Mochila Review Writing Award, a 2020 winner of the University of Wisconsin’s Eudora Welty Fiction Thesis Award, and a 2022 Tin House Scholar. She has been commissioned to write and perform multiple spoken word pieces for the National Education Association, and has had work published in NarrativeNortheast, Angles Literary Magazine, Beltway Quarterly and more.

At Holon, Nesha conducts intensive interviews with authors and works closely with them to make their manuscripts as skillful and informative as possible. She loves collaborating with authors and getting to learn from them and their stories.
