Mikhayla Dunaj is a copywriter at Holt Bosse. Mikhayla previously worked as an election SOS reporting support fellow at the Detroit Free Press, a reporting intern at MLive.com, and a reporting intern at the Mackinac Island Town Crier.

Dunaj began their career as a reporting intern at the Mackinac Island Town Crier. As the reporting intern, they were one of three writers helping to fill a 28-paged newspaper weekly. Mikhayla covered six beats in addition to meeting coverage, hard news, and event coverage, while also compiling a community social calendar. Each week, they helped to sell subscriptions and deliver the newspaper to businesses and stands across Mackinac Island.

Dunaj then interned at MLive.com, where they pitched and wrote stories about the Jackson community on a deadline of two stories daily. Much of their reporting focused on the local impact of the Coronavirus pandemic through breaking news, feature, and enterprise pieces.

Finally, Dunaj worked as an election SOS reporting support fellow at the Detroit Free Press. In this role, they debunked misinformation and disinformation about the 2020 election and answered reader questions through service journalism, FAQs and social media posts.
