Melissa Brown has extensive experience in the field of education. Melissa began their career as a Spanish Instructor at Bloomington High School from August 1992 to August 2009. During this time, they taught Spanish to students. In August 2009, Melissa joined Holton-Arms School as the Director of Global Education. Melissa'srole was later expanded to include the responsibility of Director of Diversity and Global Education in June 2013. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Diversity, Wellbeing, and Global Education at Holton-Arms School, starting from June 2019.
Melissa Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Spanish/Education from the University of Maryland College Park from 1988 to 1992. Melissa then pursued further education at Illinois State University and obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Spanish Language and Literature from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, Melissa also studied Spanish Language and Literature at UNAM Mexico City from 1990 to 1991.
