Karina Hernandez, MSW, has a diverse range of work experience in the social work field. Karina is currently working at Home Start Inc. as the Housing Program Manager for East County. Prior to that, they served as the Homeless Outreach Team Lead and Care Coordination Team Lead at the same organization. Karina also worked as a Homeless Outreach Specialist for the City of El Cajon and as a Senior Rapid Re-Housing Case Manager.

Before joining Home Start Inc., Karina was at Crisis House, where they held the position of Emergency and Social Services Program Manager. In this role, they managed the everyday operations of the drop-in center for individuals experiencing homelessness. Karina also worked as a Case Manager for individuals battling addiction and enrolled in an outpatient drug and alcohol program, as well as for a HUD-funded Domestic Violence Rapid Re-Housing program.

Additional experience includes working as a Case Manager at The Children's Collective, Inc. and serving as a Social Work Intern at the California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (CHCADA), Promise Healthcare, Peace Over Violence, and Anaheim Union High School District.

Karina holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and has acquired valuable skills and knowledge through their various roles, demonstrating their dedication to helping those in need.

Karina Hernandez, MSW, obtained their Bachelor's degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, where they attended from 2008 to 2010. Karina continued their education at the same university and completed their Master's degree in Social Work from 2010 to 2013.
