Asha Hoyte

Asha Hoyte has extensive work experience in the field of internal audit. Asha started their career as a Financial Analyst at Petro Canada in 2004 and later worked as an Internal Control Consultant at Nortel from 2006 to 2008. Asha then joined TELUS as an Internal Auditor from 2008 to 2010. Following that, they became a Senior Internal Auditor at Home Trust Company from 2010 to 2012. Asha then worked as a Manager of Internal Controls Compliance on a contract basis at Loblaw Companies Limited in 2012. Asha returned to Home Trust Company in 2012 and held various positions including Manager, Senior Manager, and AVP of Internal Audit until 2015. Currently, they are employed at Home Trust Company as the VP of Internal Audit since March 2021.

Asha Hoyte's education history begins in 1998 when they attended the University of Guelph, where they obtained a B.Comm degree in Management and Economics. Following this, in 2001, they pursued a post-graduate diploma in Human Resource Management at Seneca College. Moving forward, from 2004 to 2008, they earned a CGA Designation from the Certified General Accountants of Ontario, specializing in Accounting and Auditing. In 2008 and 2009, Asha obtained a Certified Internal Audit Designation from The Institute of Internal Auditors with a focus on Audit and Compliance. Continuing their education, in 2010, they acquired a CISA Designation from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, emphasizing Audit and Compliance. In that same year, they also pursued a PMP Designation in Project Management from the Project Management Institute. Lastly, in 2011 and 2012, Asha completed the Certified Fraud Examiner Designation program at the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
