Mark L.

Mark L. has extensive work experience in the data and analytics field. Mark currently holds the position of Vice President, Data and Analytics at Home Trust Company since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Sun Life from 2017 to 2022, where they held various roles including AVP, Finance Data & Analytics, AVP, Head of Data Engineering, and AVP, Head of Engineering. From 2016 to 2017, Mark held the position of AVP, Big Data Delivery at Aviva Canada, and from 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Senior Manager, Big Data at Rogers Communications.

Before joining Sun Life, Mark worked at Accenture from 2011 to 2013 as a Manager, where they led system integration engagements in Canada and the US. Their accomplishments included implementing the Accenture Duck Creek policy administration system and leading DW+BI implementations for major clients. Mark also worked at The Co-operators from 2009 to 2011 as a Senior Solutions Architect, where they were responsible for implementing IBM IAA-IIW and developing an enterprise BI strategy.

Mark began their career at IBM Global Business Services in 2002 as a Business Intelligence Consultant. Mark gained experience in mainframe application development before transitioning to developing business intelligence applications for financial services clients.

Mark L. obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University in the years 1999 to 2004. Later, in the years 2015 to 2016, they pursued a Master of Management Analytics (M.MA) degree from Queen's University's Smith School of Business.
