Michael Veliz

Michael Veliz has a diverse work experience in the food and beverage industry. Michael currently holds the position of Director of Commissary Operations at HomeState since September 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Commissary Operations Manager at the same company since September 2021. Before joining HomeState, Michael worked as a Production Manager at Freshly from October 2020 to April 2021. Michael also served as the Commissary General Manager - West Coast Ops at CAVA from January 2018 to June 2020. Michael's earlier experience includes being a Production Ops Manager at Juice Served Here in 2017 and the Head of Production at Pop & Bottle from 2015 to 2016. Michael started their career at BluePrint Inc. as a Production Supervisor from 2010 to 2012 and later held the role of Distribution Manager - West Coast from 2012 to 2014.

Michael Veliz has a diverse education history. Michael began their educational journey in 1994 at Academia Naval "Almirante Illingworth" HS, where they obtained their HS Diploma in Accounting and Administration in 2000. Afterward, they pursued further education at Universidad de Guayaquil from 2000 to 2001, focusing on Accounting and Computer Science and earning a Pre-Universitario degree. In 2004, Michael enrolled at Laguardia Community College and successfully completed the Food Service Management Program, obtaining an Associate's degree in 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Michael Veliz has also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they earned the Manager's Food Safety Certification from the NFA. The same year, they also completed the OSHA 10 Standard Industrial Safety Certification through the OSHA Training Institute Education Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. Most recently, in January 2018, Michael became a Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) through the FDA.
