Sean Phillips has a diverse work experience, beginning with their role as an Architecture Shop Assistant at UC Berkeley in 2010. Sean then moved on to roles as an Architectural Designer at Futurepolis, Atelier Bow-Wow, John Maniscalco Architects, and People's Architecture Office. In 2016, they worked as a Researcher at the MIT Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism and an Architectural Designer at the Office of Alberto Kalach, where they developed a proposal for a small library. In 2017, they Co-Founded Civic Capital and in 2019 they Co-Founded Homestead, the first development platform for homeowners. In 2020, they were a part of the W20 YC Cohort Member for Homestead.
Sean Phillips attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. Sean then went on to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a Master of Architecture degree.
