Kim Richmond has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kim started their career as a Credit Analyst - Technology Industries at Key Bank in 1992, managing a portfolio of about $30 million in loans and being part of the team that secured the bank's first $1 billion commitment to a lending relationship. Kim then moved to US Bank as a Credit Analyst - Commercial Middle Market, handling small business and middle market credit analysis and portfolio management. In 2010, they joined Sonju Community Orchard and Garden as the Project Manager/Garden Steward. In the same year, they became a Board Member at Des Moines Legacy Foundation, where they focused on fundraising for sports and youth program scholarships and funding local parks and recreation. In 2012, Kim joined HomeStreet Bank as the Vice President, Commercial Banking Underwriting Manager, handling commercial credit analysis and portfolio management for middle-market companies. Finally, in 2018, they became the President of Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market, where they oversee the weekly farmers' market operations, including hiring employees, financial review, budgeting, and vendor guidelines.

From 1986 to 1990, Kim Richmond attended the University of Washington, Seattle - Foster School of Business, where they earned their BA degree in Human Resources & Organizational Behavior.
