Katie Thomas

Katie (Kathryn) Thomas is a highly experienced professional in environmental science and education, currently serving as Co-founder and COO of Blue Lion Labs since January 2020, and as a Team Member for Homeward Bound Projects since March 2022. As the Owner of Stillwater Environmental since 2009, Katie specializes in analyzing algal samples and designing studies to assess aquatic ecosystem impairment. Previous roles include Scientist at Environment and Climate Change Canada, Lecturer at Wilfrid Laurier University, and Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo, where significant contributions to research and teaching were made. Katie holds a PhD in Water Quality and Monitoring and a BSc in Honours Biology, both from the University of Waterloo.
