Misty Dawn Thorose is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in environmental science, geology, and leadership. Currently serving as Assistant Director for Restoration & Partnerships in the International Environment, Reef & Oceans Division at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, Misty leads a team focused on reef protection and restoration initiatives while engaging with stakeholders and Traditional Custodians. Misty has a diverse background, having held various roles including Assistant Director for Conservation and Biodiversity, where scientific advice was provided on biodiversity impacts, and multiple geoscience positions that involved geological analysis, project management, and community liaison. Currently participating in the STEMM Leadership Program with Homeward Bound Projects, Misty is dedicated to advancing women in science and holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Science and Geology from Deakin University and The Australian National University, respectively.
