Peter Trautman

Peter Trautman is a Senior Scientist at Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. since April 2018, specializing in robotics. Previously, Peter served as a Senior Research Scientist at Galois, Inc. from April 2015 to April 2018, focusing on autonomous robots and assistive technologies using probabilistic inference and formal methods. Prior roles include Senior Staff Engineer at Matrix Research Inc., Senior Research Engineer at Boeing, and Graduate Student at the California Institute of Technology, where significant research in robotic perception and navigation was conducted. Peter also has experience as a consultant at Applied Minds and Toyon Research Corporation and served as a Captain and program manager in the United States Air Force from 2000 to 2005, managing programs related to target tracking and sensor management. Peter holds a Ph.D. in Control & Dynamical Systems from Caltech and a BS in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Baylor University.
