Dean Bergman

Dean Bergman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Dean'smost recent position was as the Director of Business Development at Honeybee Robotics, where they have been since 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Business Development Manager at the same company from 2018 to 2020. Before joining Honeybee Robotics, Dean worked at Millennium Engineering and Integration as a Risk Manager, Education & Public Outreach Lead, and Project Engineer, contracted to NASA Ames Research Center. Dean was involved in the Resource Prospector mission to the moon, focusing on monitoring and mitigating risks associated with cost, schedule, and safety. Dean also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA Ames Research Center from 2014 to 2017, where they conducted research on interplanetary deep drilling and managed systems level testing for the Atacama Rover Astrobiology Drilling Studies project. Dean has also held positions as a Teaching Assistant and Course Grader at the University of Southern California, a Research Intern at Shanghai YS Information Technologies Inc., and a Teaching Assistant and General Mechanical Engineering Tutor at the University of Cape Town. Additionally, Dean has experience in sales and technical support as the co-owner of D&C Computer Services and as a Trainee Design Engineer at Eraco Boat Builders. Prior to that, they worked as an Event Director at The Poker Room. Dean Bergman completed their education in the field of engineering. Dean obtained a BSc(eng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town from 2005 to 2008. Afterwards, they pursued a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southern California from 2009 to 2010. Dean continued their studies at the same institution, earning a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their academic achievements, Dean Bergman obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in August 2018.
