Derek Hampshire

Derek Hampshire, CPA has a comprehensive work experience in the finance and accounting field. Derek is currently serving as the Vice President of Finance at HonorHealth since April 2022. Prior to this, Derek worked as the Corporate Controller at HonorHealth from January 2019 to April 2022. Before joining HonorHealth, they were the Director of Tax and Treasury at HonorHealth from May 2017 to January 2019.

Aside from their role at HonorHealth, Derek has also lectured at the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service as a Lecturer of Health Administration since May 2020.

Prior to their position at HonorHealth, Derek worked at PetSmart as the Controller-Charities from November 2015 to May 2017, and as the Senior Manager of Accounting & Services, PetSmart Charities from June 2014 to November 2015.

Before PetSmart, Derek had a stint at CVS Health as a Finance Advisor, focusing on Med D Financial Planning & Analysis from April 2013 to June 2014. Derek also held the position of Senior Internal Auditor at CVS Health from January 2012 to April 2013.

Derek has also contributed to the field of education as an Adjunct Accounting Professor at Grand Canyon University from April 2013 to May 2014.

Earlier in their career, Derek gained valuable experience working at EY, where they held various roles. Derek served as a Senior Auditor from July 2010 to January 2012 and from October 2009 to June 2010. Prior to that, they worked as a Staff Auditor from September 2007 to September 2009. Derek began their professional journey as an Audit Intern at EY from June 2006 to August 2006.

Derek's finance background also includes an internship at Honeywell International as a Finance Intern from May 2005 to August 2005. Overall, their extensive work experience has equipped him with a diverse skill set in finance, accounting, and leadership roles.

Derek Hampshire, CPA holds a Masters in Accounting from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, which they obtained in 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelors in Accounting at the same institution in 2006. Derek also holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Arizona State Board of Accountancy, which they obtained in 2009.
