Martijn Guichelaar

Martijn Guichelaar is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in biodiversity and water management. Currently serving as Beleidsadviseur biodiversiteit at Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard since January 2002, Martijn leads the biodiversity pillar within the organization's sustainability program, driving initiatives outlined in the Waterbeheerprogramma 2022-2027. Previous roles at the same organization include Beleidsadviseur Waterkeringen en Wegen, focusing on policy development for water barriers and roads, and advising on maintenance practices. Martijn also has experience at Rijkswaterstaat as the Programmasecretaris for the Deltaprogramma Rijnmond-Drechtsteden, handling stakeholder management. Earlier in their career, Martijn worked as a Natuurtechnisch medewerker at Adviesbureau RIET, overseeing green projects.
