Kevin McKenzie

Kevin McKenzie's work experience begins in 2004 when they joined Clemson University as an Information Technology Manager I. Kevin progressed through various roles at the university, serving as Director of Security Integration and later as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Executive Director of the Office of Information Security and Privacy (InfoSec). During their time at Clemson University, they were recognized as the Information Security Executive of the South East and North America.

In 2010, Kevin McKenzie joined Health Sciences South Carolina (HSSC) as the Chief Information Security Officer. HSSC is a collaborative organization that brings together health systems and research-intensive universities to improve public health and economic well-being through research.

In 2016, Kevin McKenzie transitioned to Dollar Tree Stores, initially serving as Vice-President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Kevin'sresponsibilities expanded to include the role of SVP of IT & Enterprise CISO, overseeing IT units such as infrastructure, networks, field services, IT finance, and business intelligence/data analytics.

Additionally, Kevin McKenzie has served on the Board of Directors for two organizations. Kevin is a Director for the Retail and Hospitality Information Sharing and Analysis Center (RH-ISAC), which provides cybersecurity intelligence and information sharing for consumer-facing organizations. Kevin is also an independent Director for Hook Security Co., a cyber security company that specializes in helping companies combat social engineering attacks.

Overall, Kevin McKenzie has a diverse background in IT and information security, with experience in academia, collaborative research organizations, and the retail industry.

Kevin McKenzie holds a Doctorate degree in Career and Technology Education from Clemson University. Kevin also obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration and Management, both from Clemson University as well. In addition to their academic qualifications, Kevin has obtained various certifications including a PCI - ISA certification from PCI-DSS in March 2018, a Certified Information System Security Professional certification from ISC2 in January 2007, and an ITIL v3 Foundations certification from ITIL.
