Klaus Orlinger

Klaus Orlinger has a strong background in scientific research and leadership roles. Klaus currently holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer at HOOKIPA Pharma Inc., a role they started in January 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Vice President of Research from March 2020 to December 2021 and as the Senior Vice President of Research from January 2019 to March 2020 at HOOKIPA Pharma Inc. During their tenure at HOOKIPA, they have been heavily involved in vaccine design, project leadership, lead generation, and preclinical evaluation of vaccine candidates. Before joining HOOKIPA, they worked at Baxter Healthcare as a Scientist from June 2007 to February 2012.

Klaus Orlinger holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Microbiology and Genetics from the University of Vienna, which they completed between 1998 and 2004. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Microbiology and Genetics at the Medical University of Vienna from 2004 to 2007.
