Sarah Schmidt

Sarah Schmidt has a diverse work experience in the field of virology. Sarah started their career as a Scientist in Virology at Hookipa Biotech in December 2014. From December 2015 to December 2017, they worked as a Senior Scientist, focusing on the development and application of novel therapeutic vaccines. Sarah then served as the Head of Virology from December 2017 to July 2019. Sarah continued to progress in their career at Hookipa and held the role of Senior Director from July 2019 to January 2021. Following this, they were promoted to Executive Director in Virology and held the position until March 2023. Currently, they are working as the Vice President in the Virology department at Hookipa Pharma Inc. Prior to their time at Hookipa, Sarah worked as a Post-Doc at the Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt am Main from July 2013 to November 2014.

Sarah Schmidt received their Dipl. rer. nat. degree in Biology, specializing in Infectious Biology/Virology, from The Philipp University of Marburg in 2008. Sarah then went on to complete their Dr. rer. nat. degree in Promotion at Heidelberg University, graduating in 2013.
