Dr. Majid Moshirfar has a robust work experience in the field of ophthalmology. Majid is currently the Director of the Utah Cornea Fellowship at Hoopes Vision Cornea & Refractive Surgery Education Fellowship, a position they have held since July 2017. Prior to this, they served as a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Utah's John A. Moran Eye Center starting from January 2016. Dr. Moshirfar also holds the role of Associate Medical Director at the Utah Lions Eye Bank, which they started in December 2017. Additionally, they are an Attending Physician & Director of Research at Hoopes Vision since January 2016 and Director of Research and Development at Hoopes Durrie Rivera Clinical Research Center since the same time. Majid has held multiple positions at the University of Utah, starting in July 1998 as the Director of Corneal & Refractive Surgery Division at the John A. Moran Eye Center, and continuing as a Tenured Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics until November 2014. Prior to that, they also held various academic positions at UCSF Medical Center and the Francis I. Proctor Foundation for Research in Ophthalmology. Throughout their career, Dr. Moshirfar has focused on patient care in the area of corneal diseases, ocular surface inflammatory disease, vision correction procedures, corneal infections, and herpetic diseases of the eyes. Majid is actively involved in training cornea fellows and residents, and has a keen interest in publishing scientific manuscripts and academic research.

Dr. Majid Moshirfar completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine from 1988 to 1992, focusing on the field of Medicine. Following this, they pursued a Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Chicago, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Later, Dr. Moshirfar undertook a Subspecialty Fellowship in Cornea, external diseases, Refractive Surgery, and Uveitis at the University of Utah School of Medicine, spanning from 1996 to 1998.
