James Geuzebroek

James Geuzebroek has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and media. James currently holds the position of Director of Media & External Communications at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) since 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Manager of Public Relations & Corporate Communications at HOOPP from 2018 to 2022.

Before joining HOOPP, James founded their own company, James Geuzebroek Communications, where they worked as the Principal since 2014, offering strategic communications advice and excellent writing and editing services to organizations.

James also worked as the Director of Communications at the Real Estate Council of Ontario from 2013 to 2018, overseeing all communications activities, including media, social media, website, ad campaigns, and corporate messaging.

From 2010 to 2013, they held the position of Vice-President of Communications at the Insurance Bureau of Canada, leading a team of 17 professionals in government and consumer relations. Prior to this role, they served as the Manager of Media Relations at the same organization from 2006 to 2010.

James started their career as the Eastern Editor at Thompson's World Insurance News in 1999 and held this role until 2004.

James Geuzebroek earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Trent University between 1990 and 1994. James then pursued a Master's degree in English at the University of Toronto from 1996 to 1997. Following that, they completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism at Centennial College from 1998 to 1999.
