Yu (York) Yang, CFA, FRM has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries and roles. Yu (York) is currently working as the Director of Investment Risk at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) since June 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director of Fund Investment Risk Management at OMERS from April 2017 to June 2022. Yu (York) has also worked at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) as a Senior Investment Officer from May 2016 to March 2017. Yu has previous experience at HOOPP as a Senior Analyst from September 2013 to May 2016. Yu (York) has also worked at Manulife Financial as a Manager of Global Asset and Liability Management(ALM) from October 2009 to April 2013. Before that, Yu worked at HuaTai Securities Co.,Ltd. as a Senior Investment Analyst from December 2007 to March 2009. Yu (York) has held managerial positions at Nortel Networks and National Computer System Engineering Research Institute of China. In total, Yu has substantial experience in investment risk management, fund investment, asset and liability management, and analysis.

Yu (York) Yang, CFA, FRM has a diverse educational background. Yu (York) obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Ivey Business School at Western University in 2007. During their time at the Ivey Business School, they focused on Dr. George Athanassakos' Value Investing classes.

Prior to their MBA, Yu Yang earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Nankai University in 1994. Yu (York) also holds another Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution, which they completed in 1994 as well.

In addition to their educational achievements, Yu Yang has acquired two significant certifications. Yu (York) became a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) through the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) in 2011. In 2010, they also obtained the esteemed Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute.
