Mark Van Genderen is a trustee at Hope College. Mark was previously the Vice President of Business Development at Douglas Dynamics, Inc. from November 2020 to September 2021. Prior to that, they were the General Manager of Riding Gear, Branded Apparel, Licensed Product, eCommerce, and Retail Environment at Harley-Davidson Motor Company from January 2019 to December 2019. In this role, they led all aspects of Harley-Davidson’s technical riding gear, casual apparel, licensed product, eCommerce, and retail environment businesses. Mark also introduced Harley-Davidson storefront on Amazon, including development of online-exclusive apparel assortment and comprehensive communication strategy to 650+ independent brick and mortar dealers in U.S. network. Under their leadership, the division increased EBIT performance as a percentage of revenue to over twice the apparel peer group average.
Mark Van Genderen has completed an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management with distinct majors in Finance, Marketing, Management and Strategy, and Organizational Behavior. Mark also holds a B.A. from Hope College in Business Administration with a German minor. In addition, they have certification from the American Heart Association in CPR/AED/First Aid.
