Johnson Chong Siong Thiang

Johnson Chong Siong Thiang has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Johnson Chong Siong joined Horangi Cyber Security in 2017 and is currently serving as the Product Engineering Technical Lead since July 2021. Previously, they worked as the Managing CyberOps Consultant from January 2021 to June 2021, and as the CyberOps Senior Consultant/Team Lead from December 2017 to December 2020. In these roles, they performed various tasks such as network vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, application security testing, source code review, system security acceptance testing, network architecture review, and red teaming engagements. Johnson Chong Siong also provided guidance and mentorship to interns and junior team members.

Prior to their employment at Horangi Cyber Security, Johnson worked at Deloitte. Johnson Chong Siong started as an intern in 2012 and later became an Associate from January 2014 to June 2015. In July 2015, they were promoted to the role of Consultant and then to Senior Consultant in July 2017. During their tenure at Deloitte, they focused on enterprise risk services, conducting network vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, source code review, system security acceptance testing, host configuration review, and red teaming engagements. Johnson Chong Siong also provided guidance and mentorship to interns and junior team members.

Johnson Chong Siong Thiang obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computing (Electronic Commerce) from the National University of Singapore from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Computer and Network Technology (Merit) from Singapore Polytechnic between 2005 and 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Johnson has also acquired several certifications. Johnson Chong Siong obtained the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification from Offensive Security in March 2017. In December 2022, they obtained the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Johnson also holds the CREST Registered Penetration Tester certification from CREST, which they obtained in March 2017, as well as the CREST Practitioner Security Analyst certification, obtained in August 2018. Furthermore, they obtained the CREST Registered Penetration Tester certification from CREST in May 2021. Lastly, Johnson attained the GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) certification from GIAC Certifications in March 2015.
