Phil Roberts

Phil Roberts is a highly experienced technical specialist in propulsion research and development, currently working at HORIBA MIRA since February 2018, where responsibilities include investigating rapid characterization of powertrain performance and emissions. Previously, Phil served as Principal Engineer at HORIBA MIRA, leading customer engine development and testing, and was the technical lead for Engine-in-the-Loop methodologies. Prior experience includes working as a Senior Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover, focusing on gasoline combustion research, and as a Senior Development Engineer at JCB Power Systems, developing heavy-duty diesel engines. Phil began a career at BMW as a Right First Time Engineer addressing water ingress issues. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Fundamental Engine Combustion from the University of Leeds and a BEng in Automotive Engineering from Oxford Brookes University.
