Mehmet Turan

Mehmet Turan has an extensive work experience in data and analytics. Mehmet is currently the Head of Data and Analytics at Horizon since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at 2K from 2015 to 2023, where they held various roles including Vice President, Data and Analytics, Sr. Director, Analytics and Data Science, and Director of Analytics. At 2K, they built and established the analytics department, growing the team from 1 person to over 60 people, and built the analytics and machine learning infrastructure using various tools.

Before joining 2K, Mehmet worked at Electronic Arts from 2011 to 2015. Mehmet started as a Strategic Planning Manager and later became the Sr. Manager, Data Science. Mehmet led the first data science team in EA and implemented various models and strategies for CRM communications and optimization.

Mehmet also has experience working at Baruch College as a Graduate Research Assistant and an Instructor (Adjunct Faculty) from 2005 to 2011.

Mehmet Turan's education history begins in 1998 when they enrolled at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Middle East Technical University) to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Mehmet successfully completed this program in 2002.

In 2002, Mehmet continued their studies at the same university and pursued a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management. This program lasted till 2005 and they received their MS degree upon completion.

Following their Master's degree, Mehmet joined Baruch College in 2005 to undertake a Ph.D. program in Business with a focus on Computer Information Systems. This program lasted until 2011, culminating in the award of a Ph.D. degree.

During their time at Baruch College, Mehmet also pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Management Information Systems from 2006 to 2008.

Overall, Mehmet Turan completed their educational journey with a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, followed by a Master's degree in Engineering Management, an MBA in Management Information Systems, and finally achieved a Ph.D. in Business with a specialization in Computer Information Systems.
