Fiona O'Sullivan, Bsc(Hons)

Fiona Taylor-O'Sullivan has over 16 years of experience in the field of automation engineering. Fiona recently joined Horizon Controls Group as a Senior Automation Engineer and Training SME in December 2022. Prior to that, Fiona worked at Cognizant from July 2021 to December 2022, where they served as a Team Manager and Engineering Trainer.

From June 2019 to June 2021, Fiona worked at Zenith Technologies as an Engineering Trainer and also held the role of Team Manager from January 2018 to June 2021. Before that, they worked as a Senior Automation Engineer at Zenith Technologies from September 2012 to May 2019.

Fiona gained experience as a Biotech Automation Engineer while being seconded from Zenith Technologies to Eli Lilly and Company. Fiona held this position from November 2017 to June 2019 and from May 2015 to May 2017.

Earlier in their career, Fiona worked as an Automation Engineer at ABB Ireland from September 2012 to May 2015. Prior to that, they were a Consultant Automation Engineer at IT Automation AB from December 2011 to August 2012 and at C.A.P.S. Power Engineering from May 2010 to April 2011.

Fiona started their career as a Graduate Automation Engineer at ABB Inc. in May 2006, where they gained experience in testing and documentation for TÜV approval and worked on customer projects, including the design and coding of specialized Control Modules and Equipment Modules. Fiona worked at ABB Inc. until May 2008.

Throughout their career, Fiona has gained expertise in various automation systems, including ABB 800xA, AC 800M, and AC 800M controller family.

Fiona Taylor-O'Sullivan began their education journey in 2001 at Anglia Ruskin University, where they pursued a degree in Electronics with a focus on Digital and Analogue. Fiona completed their studies in 2004.

In 2011, Fiona attended The Open University and obtained a Natural Sciences Certificate, specializing in Geology/Earth Science.

Fiona has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2016, they earned a certification in Fundamentals of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing from GetReskilled. In 2006, they obtained an Export Control Awareness certification from Access to Export Ltd. Additionally, they hold a Certificate in Food Hygiene from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, acquired in 2005. Fiona also received a Portable Appliance Test certification from Test Electrical Services in 2005.

In recent years, Fiona has focused on expanding their knowledge in online teaching and remote work. Fiona obtained certifications such as "How To Design for Accessibility: for UX Designers (WCAG 2.2)" from Udemy and "Online Teaching: Creating Courses for Adult Learners" from FutureLearn in 2021. In 2020, they obtained certifications such as "Remote Work Foundations" from LinkedIn, "Professional Practice Certificate in Training & Development Level 6" from the Irish Institute of Training & Development (IITD), "The Online Educator: People and Pedagogy" from FutureLearn, "Working with other cultures" from Cognizant, "Tips for Working Remotely" from LinkedIn, "Virtual Classroom Essentials" from the Irish Institute of Training & Development (IITD), and "e-Learning essentials" from Harvest.
