Martha Lucia Zapata

Martha Lucia Zapata is an experienced professional in quality management and healthcare coordination, currently serving as Manager of Quality Management at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey since July 2017. In this role, Martha has held positions including Sr. Quality Management Specialist and Population Health Specialist. Additionally, since April 2020, Martha has contributed as a Board Member at TEPEYAC MISSION INC. Previously, Martha worked as Healthcare Coordination/Data Manager at Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc., where innovative health education programs were developed for chronic disease patients. As Executive Director and Co-Founder of We Are One Heart, Martha managed various health programs, fundraising efforts, and mobile clinics. Early career experience includes serving as Director of Sales for Central America and the Middle East at Sciam Engineering Inc., achieving significant sales targets. Martha holds a Master’s Degree in Global Finance, Trade, and Economic Integration and a Certificate in Global Health Affairs from the University of Denver, along with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Central Florida.
