Gabrielle Ellis

Gabrielle Ellis, M.S. has a diverse range of work experience. Gabrielle began their career in 2014 as an Americorps Member with City Year, where they provided mentorship, tutoring, and support in an under-resourced high school. Gabrielle then moved on to become a Senior Americorps Team Leader, leading a team of AmeriCorps Members in coordinating attendance and behavior initiatives.

In 2016, Gabrielle worked as an Educator at Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools, where they taught middle school students study skills and developed comprehensive lesson plans. Gabrielle also worked as an Educator at ST PETERS Center for Comprehensive Services.

Gabrielle has also held several leadership positions. Gabrielle served as an Executive Assistant at Trinity Church, where they performed administrative tasks and organized fundraising events. Gabrielle also worked as the Executive Director at Sunnyside Freedom School, overseeing the operations of the organization.

Most recently, Gabrielle worked at Horizons National as the Affiliate Support and VISTA Manager before being promoted to the role of Director of Expansion. Gabrielle also had a role at the YMCA of Northwest NC as the Director of College and Career; Black and Latino Achievers, where they supported black and Latino youth in achieving their educational and career goals.

Gabrielle Ellis, M.S. earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sociology from Western Carolina University, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. In 2012, they also briefly attended Universidad ORT Uruguay, focusing on International/Global Studies. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management at Northeastern University from 2016 to 2018.
