Haichao Zhang

Haichao Zhang is a Senior Research Scientist at Horizon Robotics since August 2019, previously holding positions at Baidu USA as a Senior Research Scientist and Tech Lead from April 2016 to July 2019, focusing on robust, explainable, and interactive AI, as well as machine learning and computer vision. Prior experience includes a Research Scientist role at Amazon, contributing to the Amazon Go project on computer vision and machine learning, and a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Duke University, where work centered on machine learning techniques for computational photography. Additional roles include a Full-time Research Student at Microsoft Research Asia and a Research Intern at the US Army Research Lab. Haichao Zhang earned a postdoctoral associate degree in machine learning from Duke University and a joint PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
