Horizons for Homeless Children
Penny Kohn is an experienced educator with a strong focus on creative writing and childhood education. Currently serving as a Creative Writing Teacher at the Edward Devotion After-School Enrichment Program since January 2014, Penny successfully doubled enrollment in the program. Additionally, Penny holds roles as a Teacher's Aide at Temple Beth Zion and as a Playspace Activity Leader for Horizons for Homeless Children, where notable skills in engaging non-English speaking children have been demonstrated. As a Tot Shabbat Leader at Minyan Shaleym, Penny is recognized for innovative use of puppetry and engaging diverse young audiences in religious services. Educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Pine Manor College and degrees in Business Education and Elementary Education from Suffolk University and Indiana University. Previous professional experience includes key administrative roles at institutions such as the Episcopal Divinity School and Harvard School of Public Health.
