Michael Thompson's work experience includes holding various positions in different organizations. Michael began their career as an intern at the Kansas City Sports Commission in 2007, where they gained experience in public relations, business administration, marketing, and event planning. Michael then worked as a Stadium Operations Coordinator for the Kansas City Royals in 2008, where they assisted with administrative and clerical duties and conducted facility maintenance. In 2009, they joined Aramark Coors Field as a Supervisor, responsible for managing stand workers and handling inquiries and complaints. In 2010, they served as the Vending Manager/HR Coordinator at Aramark Coors Field, overseeing vendors and conducting payroll. From 2012 to 2021, they worked at the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency in multiple roles, including DCO Operations Manager and Olympic Education Coordinator. In 2022, they joined the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee as an Operations Manager before taking on the role of Director of Network Operations at the Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU).

Michael Thompson attended Benedictine College from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management.
