Robert Laban

Robert Laban has over 20 years of experience in various HR roles. Robert started their career at Chelsea & Westminster Healthcare NHS Trust in 1991, where they worked in various roles until 1997. Robert then joined Westminster City Council as an Education Personnel Officer until 1999. From 1999 to 2001, Laban served as the Deputy Personnel Adviser at The Girls' Day School Trust, providing operational HR support and managing facilities. Robert then worked at Cambridge Education Associates @ Islington (CEA) as the Head of Personnel and Payroll, overseeing HR functions for Islington Council's school-based staff and the Regeneration and Education Department. After that, Laban worked as the Associate Director of Human Resources at Worthing and Southlands Hospitals NHS Trust and Adur, Arun and Worthing tPCT between 2003 and 2005. Robert then moved to Croydon Council as the Head of Human Resources Consultancy, leading the central HR consultancy function, recruitment and retention, and policy teams until 2010. Laban then joined Wandsworth Borough Council as an HR Project Manager, where they procured and implemented an integrated HR Management System and streamlined HR and payroll processes until 2013. Their most recent role is as the Head of HR&OD at Horsham District Council, where they have been working since 2014.

Robert Laban has a education history that includes obtaining a PG Diploma in Human Resources Management from Croydon College, which they completed between 1995 and 1997. Following this, they pursued an MA degree in Employment Law and Employee Relations from the University of Leicester, which they completed between 1997 and 2000.
