POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under general direction, is responsible for the engineering of Building Automation Systems to contractors, designers, and consultants. This person will work with the Sales Engineer to develop a complete and functioning Building Automation System for the end client. This position will be responsible for detailed system level design on building automation projects, work with the Project Mechanical Engineer of Record to get submittals approved, and then coordinate with the Building Automation Systems Technicians and Electricians to kick the project off for construction.

  • Design the building automation system (BAS) for large and/or complex/unique projects consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve, damper & air flow measuring station schedules, and DDC panel layouts as required for the project

  • Design the BAS network architecture to support the required operator workstations, DDC field panels, field controllers and any third party integration devices

  • Provide start-up and checkout documentation to the BAS Technicians and Electricians to use for commissioning and validation

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering highly preferred; AAS technical degree in related field is preferred. Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with related experience preferred. Would consider non-degreed person with extensive experience.

  • At least 5 years in the building automation systems industry.

  • Experience with BACnet, LonWorks, and Modbus open building automation protocols, preferred.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, Visio, and AutoCAD preferred.
